Dr. Castronova has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics from Wayne State University. His PhD is in the area of evaluation and research, with a minor concentration in community medicine. He has also done graduate work in the area of urban planning.
Prior to consulting, Dr. Castronova held the position of Health Care Management Biostatistician at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan responsible for statistical issues relating to provider compliance audits and utilization review. Dr. Castronova is an Accredited Professional Statistician™ as certified by the American Statistical Association and a Chartered Statistician™. He is a member of the American Statistical Association and a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon (international honor society in economics). His work history spans over four decades in the areas of research and statistical analysis. Dr. Castronova has worked in the government sector, insurance industry, public utility sector, automotive industry, and the medical sector. For the past 40 years, Dr. Castronova has been teaching part-time in the areas of statistical analysis and research methodology at various Michigan universities. He currently possesses part-time associate graduate faculty status in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences, the School of Social Work, the College of Education, and the Department of Psychology, all at Wayne State University.
